The dog days of summer are in the rear view. How can we settle in to a “back to school” mindset? As parents and teachers, we want to bridge any learning gaps for our elementary aged children. Let’s look at some elementary enrichment lessons for your young learners that you can do at home together!

Word Building
Consider the adage, “Practice makes perfect”. To master a skill at any level, we have to gather all the necessary tools. Last week’s blog offered reading titles for young readers to explore and expand their imaginations as creative learners. Reading, writing and language arts are a trifecta of establishing effective communication skills early on in our lives. Let’s explore elementary enrichment lessons which are focused on grasping beginning sounds and syllables. This lesson may be one your child can do on their own or you might need to provide some support. I worked on this with my first grader who, after a year of virtual and hybrid learning, vacillated between independent work and needing some help. We love a good theme and in the spirit of all things seasonal, these elementary enrichment lessons are all fall themed. Pumpkins, spice and everything nice in the following resource list!
